1. Student groups should consist of 3-5 participants with a teacher as advisor.
2. Begin with identifying the period in history you wish to be your subject.  This can be focused on an event, a person, or government.
3. Research this period and select a "primary source document" to be the foundation for your scene.
4. Students should provide a copy of the chosen document and bibliography of secondary sources used.
5. Write a script for a short scene (vignette) communicating the salient (central or most important) issue of the primary source document.
6. Students should provide a copy of the script.
7. The characters may be historical or present day and must be cast with members of the group. 
8. The vignette should be approximately 3-5 minutes long.
9. Gather costuming and set for the performance of your vignette.
10. At least one costume should be period to show the depth of research into the era.
11. Perform your vignette for your class and video it to submit with your script for  the festival.
